WinRAR is
with WinZip one of the symbolic software in the field of the compression of
files. As his name indicates it, the software of RarLabs manages obviously its
file format RAR but also inescapable(major) ZIP, as well as the decompression
of the formats: CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZip, TAR.GZ, BZ2, TAR.BZ2, ACE,
UUE, JAR, ISO - ISO9660, 7-Zip and Z.
WinRAR becomes integrated into the explorer Windows and
thus allows to unwind and to compress files since the pull-down menu. For the
average users, this feature can be enough but WinRAR also integrates
possibilities more moved forward as the protection of archives by the creation
of volumes of restoration, the addition of passwords, the test of the
archived files or another module of benchmarking.
